Contemporary Shaker kitchen, Radcliffe

A stylish and welcoming Shaker kitchen with the warmth of natural oak.

The Shaker kitchen style never, ever goes out of fashion.

It doesn’t matter what trend is sweeping kitchen showrooms.  There are always clients asking us to design their kitchen with the clean, uncluttered Shaker feel. This lovely scheme in Radcliffe is a great example.

Shaker kitchen simplicity with natural oak warmth.

Many of the clients who come to us are managing their own building project. This often includes extending the back of their home, or removing internal walls. All they need us to do is design and fit the kitchen into the finished space.

In contrast, for this lovely Shaker kitchen in Radcliffe, we took on full management of the construction work. This involved demolishing an existing utility wall to create more room and a far more open feel.

We specified the Shaker kitchen in a smart cashmere finish. We also used Natural Halifax Oak laminate worktops (rather than solid oak) to help keep the project in budget.

There’s a highly practical breakfast larder to keep the appearance of the room tidy. There’s also a pull-out larder to give this adventurous cook ample storage for a store of dried food and other enticing ingredients.

We housed a freestanding washing machine and a dryer behind doors. This brings them into the overall styling of the kitchen. The natural warmth of the Halifax Oak the gives the whole space a welcoming ambience, year round.

Your kitchen in your style.

There’s a great lesson to be learned from this Shaker kitchen.

Kitchen websites, magazines social media and TV shows are great for ideas, but in the end it’s your home… and your kitchen.

Our advice to anyone buying a new kitchen is “be inspired… but don’t be led.” If there’s a kitchen style that you’ve always loved, go for that. Talk to us about giving it a cool, contemporary edge with current finishes, colours and surfaces, etc… but you go for what you love!
"We couldn't be more pleased with our kitchen. It's just perfect. The quality is fantastic, it looks amazing and Simon and Stephen got the absolute best out of our budget for us."
